Amy Wickstrom

Music Educator, Presenter and Researcher

Hello! I am Amy Wickstrom, Music Educator, Presenter, and Researcher.

I am a music educator in Boise, Idaho that has graduate degrees in music education and special education. I am a researcher, presenter, educator, singer, and mother of three. I am passionate about providing an appropriate, high quality music education to all students including students that qualify for special education services. I present and continually research on how colleges and universities can better prepare pre-service music educators to teach students with exceptionalities.

With new challenges in education due to the pandemic, I have turned my research towards educational technology and the music classroom. I have become an advanced Google Certified Educator and have passed both Level 1 and Level 2 exams. I am working toward becoming a Google Educator Innovator and plan to focus on innovative solutions for music educators in the digital classroom.

Music education should be accessible and appropriate for all students. We as educators need more training and experience in working with students who qualify for special education services. If you are interested in my research or in having me present to your school district, chapter, association, or conference, please contact me.
